UNCLASSICAL

Unclassical was part of an Octophonic Concert at the Hanson Dyer Hall, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music on 15 March 2023 as part of the New Music Studio series. In this work, I used AI machine listening to do real-time tracking of the notes I was playing (a technique developed by Hans Tutschku), and then used this information to trigger other sounds spatialised in the hall. I played 2 very well-known works by Debussy, Claire de Lune and Reverie, in an attempt to exaggerate some of the features of the works with electronic sound and present them in a new way.
