What happens when we do wrong?

Something awakens. Flickers. Roars to life and splits us apart. We try to bury it, but it returns. We try to justify it, but it laughs back. We are all guilty.

Do you admit it?

​

Yet humanity needs guilt. Everyday we see instances of wrongs in the world that are perpetrated by those who do not feel guilty, or who have found a way to reason with it. On a small scale and a large scale, guilt wields its power over the most trivial and profound issues.

​

Let us all descend into the garbage of our own conscience.

This collaboration between Monica Lim, Patrick Hartono, Morgan May and the Serenata Choir from ISI Yogyakarta developed during one intensive week prior to its premiere at ArtJog 2026. We are incredibly grateful to the members of the choir who have given their time and effort to pull off a complex work in a very short space of time.
